My response to the anti-natalist movement.

Let’s discuss this comment I recently received.

I receive comments like this all the time, by the way. But this one in particular I would like to address.

First of all, this person is projecting. Whoops, did I say that out loud?

There is this rising antinatalist movement that believes it's morally wrong to procreate. Whether it's because we all die anyway so what’s the point (this is actually the origin; living is seen as too cruel) or for environmental reasons or to save other animals or because of the reasoning that there are already so many orphans and kids that need help, etc.

I totally respect if that’s not your personal goal in life, but it is biologically written in our DNA. All animals, including us, are here on this earth to reproduce and further the species.

Some of us may have evolved past the desire or adapted or simply have chosen not to reproduce. And that’s fine. Great! I hate plenty of friends that have chosen to not have children.

But don’t project your beliefs onto others. Because that’s just weak.

Becoming a parent is one of the biggest sacrifices but also one of the biggest honors. And even the person who left this comment deserves it if they want it.

So, if you’re trying to conceive, if you’re pregnant, especially if you’re dealing with fertility issues and want nothing else than to be a mother, please - don’t let ignorance like this discourage you.

It’s awesome that you want to be a mother. And it’s awesome that you want to be a parent.

ā¯”What do you think?

<anti-natalist movement>

Antinatalism is a mental disease because it leads to termination of genetic lines of its carriers
Anti-family
Anti-ancestor
Ant-parents
