The Benefits of Donating Blood

Blood donations are a great way to give back...but did you know they can benefit your health too?🩸
▪️
That’s right, donating blood is also known as “dumping iron.” Donating blood can actually help you get rid of excess iron and jump start your iron recycling system (RES) I talked about a few posts back.⚡
▪️
Bloodletting has been a common practice throughout history, as early as Ancient Egypt. It was used to prevent or cure disease and illness. Our ancestors also used to bleed in battle or while working on their land, naturally getting rid of excess iron.✨
▪️
Today, blood donations or phlebotomies can be used in a similar way.
▪️
3️⃣Men and post-menopausal women should be able to donate every 3 months.
6️⃣Women still cycling should be able to donate every 6 months.
▪️
‼️‼️‼️THAT SAID, before donating, it’s CRITICAL to improve copper levels to allow iron stuck in tissues to RELEASE, as well as replenish minerals. A body that’s NOT READY to donate will experience a lot of STRESS.‼️‼️‼️
▪️
This is why I focus on specific minerals and vitamins in my practice. My clients work with me several months BEFORE donating to make sure they’re in good shape to donate and so we don’t derail their progress.🔨
▪️
Donating blood should leave you feeling invigorated, NOT ill.💪
▪️
Do you donate blood?
