Got Histamine? Here’s How You Can Treat Your Allergies Naturally

Today, so many people experience issues with histamines...but what are they?
▪️
Histamines are compounds in food and stored in mast cells in almost all tissues of the body. They’re most well-known for the role they play in our immune system and responding to allergens.🤧
▪️
When we encounter an allergen, they’re released from mast cells in our skin, mouth, nose, gut and blood, and move to the affected area. Histamines dock at receptors there and make us create mucus, sneeze, cough and itch. Because of the intense physical reaction it creates, histamine is truly the ULTIMATE hormone of ALARM.🚨
▪️
Histamines are also involved in making stomach acid, muscle contraction and more. While they’re involved in stress reactions, they’re a natural part of our physiology.
▪️
People that experience “histamine intolerance” are generally building up histamine faster than they can break it down. Symptoms include:
▪️
💥Hives
💥Itchiness
💥Flushing
💥Redness
💥Swelling
💥Congestion
💥Headaches/Migraines
💥Asthma
💥Insomnia
💥Heart Palpitations
💥Low Blood Pressure
💥Panic Attacks
💥Bloating
💥Diarrhea
💥Abdominal Pain
💥Constipation
▪️
Lately, many people are blaming these symptoms on high-histamine foods (fermented foods, legumes, certain spices, certain fruits and veggies, nuts) and go on a rampant elimination diet. These foods might cause problems in excess, but it doesn’t mean you need to completely remove them.❌
▪️
To clear histamine, our body naturally makes an enzyme called Diamine Oxidase (DAO) aka Histaminase. BUT, it requires Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C, which many people are deficient in. And like almost all enzymes in the human body, it requires bioavailable copper!💫
▪️
In fact, there’s a 400% increase in histamine clearance when copper is available.😮
▪️
As I talk about a lot on here, the #1 copper depleter is iron. Iron also promotes histamine promoters, like hydrogen peroxide.🧲
▪️
What about antihistamines? Like most medications, these only treat symptoms, and do so by blocking histamine receptors. If we’re not addressing the cause, we’ll always have histamine issues.🩹
