Increase Your Magnesium with Magnesium Oil

¾ of America is magnesium deficient. We used to come from a place where the magnesium to calcium ratio was 2:1...in America, the ratio is now 1:5. So how do you replenish magnesium? Just like a plant...you submerge it! 💦

When we think of supplements, we usually think of swallowing a tablet or a pill. While this can definitely be an effective way to get magnesium, our ancestors used to drink AND bathe in magnesium-rich water. It makes so much sense that we can also use it topically on the skin. 💪

Magnesium oil is a great way to boost your magnesium intake, especially for those who might have sensitive tummies. Our skin still absorbs 60% of whatever we put on it (just think about that!), so we can still get a pretty significant amount of magnesium without overwhelming the system.

I like to put a few sprays of magnesium oil - magnesium chloride to be exact - on my neck and over my liver each night. If I have sore muscles, it definitely goes there too. When it dries it does create a little bit of a crust, so I simply brush it off the next morning.

If you’re just starting to supplement magnesium, orally or topically, it’s important to go SLOW. Magnesium is incredibly metabolism-boosting. In a system that’s been hibernating for a long time, adding too much in at once can create an adverse reaction or a burning sensation. Before I put ANYTHING on my skin, I do a patch test (spray or apply on a small patch of skin, usually on the forearm).
