Can seafood increase fertility?

fertility treatment nutrients preconception pregnancy seafood ttc

We’ve heard how certain types of seafood can be aphrodisiacs...but can seafood actually increase fertility?

There is research that says...yes!

One study found that when both partners consumed 8+ servings per menstrual cycle, they got pregnant faster than couples that didn’t. These partners were also found to have a higher sex drive. (Gaskins et al)

Another study in particular found that women undergoing fertility treatments (ART) who increased fish intake by 2 servings per week were more likely to have a successful birth. (Nassan et al)

Seafood contains many valuable nutrients that support egg health, sperm health, overall fertility, and the proper growth and development of baby. These include:

↝Copper

↝Iodine

↝Zinc

↝Selenium

↝Vitamin B12

↝And many others

I personally LOVE shellfish and sushi. These are my favorite ways to get seafood into my diet.

Stay tuned for my upcoming recipe guide with many yummy seafood dishes. :)
