Looking at Dairy for Fertility

Dairy often gets a bad rap. While quality matters (convo for another day), let’s look at its more redeeming qualities...especially those that support fertility!

It has many nutrients that are very supportive to reproductive and overall health. These include:

⤳Vitamin A

⤳Vitamin Đ

⤳Vitamin K2

⤳Vitamin E

⤳Magnesium

⤳Calcium

⤳Phosphorous

⤳Selenium

⤳Vitamin B2

⤳Vitamin B3

⤳Vitamin B5

⤳Vitamin B6

⤳Vitamin B12

⤳Choline

It’s also an excellent source of all 3 macronutrients: carbs, protein and fat.

Research has shown that high-fat dairy may promote fertility, while low-fat dairy may actually promote the opposite. (Chavarro et al)

Other research has shown that it can be especially beneficial for women going through IVF and is associated with higher chances of live birth. (Afeiche et al)

I love all types of dairy, but my favorite way to consume it is a plain old glass of raw milk. There’s nothing more comforting and nostalgic to me! And it’s awesome to know that I’m supporting my fertility when I drink it. :)
