My doctor told me I would "probably get preeclampsia and have a premature baby" - just like my mother did. But now I get to rub her horrible bedside manner in her face.

My doctor told me I would

My doctor told me - before I was even pregnant - that I would get preeclampsia. And that I would have a premature baby.

More on that in a bit, but first…preeclampsia is no joke. πŸ–οΈ

During pregnancy, it can look like:

πŸ“ˆ High blood pressure

πŸ“ˆ Protein in the urine

πŸ“ˆ Swelling & water retention

πŸ“ˆ Abdominal pain (right side)

πŸ“ˆ Vision changes

πŸ“ˆ Headaches

More severe cases can be life-threatening (for both you and baby). It also comes with an increased risk of experiencing other pregnancy complications.

My mother experienced preeclampsia with me and my youngest brother. I was born 5 lbs 11 oz, very small. My brother was born 2-3 months early due to her preeclampsia getting so bad, she had to get an emergency C-section or both their lives were at stake.

I knew my mother’s experience put me at a higher risk. And I wanted to prove my doctor completely wrong.

Guess what? I didn’t experience preeclampsia with this pregnancy. And now I get to rub it in my doctor’s face. 🀣

How I avoided preeclampsia:

β˜‘οΈ I understood the risk factors (beyond just my mother experiencing them)

β˜‘οΈ I closed the gaps in my fertility that aligned with the risk factors

Not to mention, I had an amazingly healthy, complication-free pregnancy.
