Period Myths That Need to Stop

cycle fertility fertility awareness ovulation period

There is so much confusing information about our periods! And it can make it really hard to get in tune with our own bodies, especially if we’re starting to track our cycles to try and get pregnant.

Here are 8 common period myths you might want to throw in the trash:

  • Ovulation should always take place on day 14 of our cycle.
  • An LH surge always means we’ve ovulated.
  • That twinge you feel during ovulation is your egg being released from your ovary.
  • Presence of cervical mucus means we’re going to ovulate.
  • Last missed period is the most accurate way to date baby.
  • Fertility Awareness doesn’t work for irregular cycles.
  • Your fertility device’s algorithm is always 100% accurate.
  • You can get pregnant without ovulating.
