Recipe: The Adrenal Cocktail

adrenal cocktail copper pottasium recipe sodium stress vitamin c

The Adrenal Cocktail is a tonic concocted by the Root Cause Protocol Institute to help replenish the essential minerals and vitamins lost during stress, which can be especially helpful in trying to regain hormonal balance.
*
Since liquid needs during pregnancy, so do needs for electrolytes. The cocktail can also be a perfect way to maintain proper plasma volume in the bloodstream.
*
The Adrenal Cocktail primarily contains:
*
〰️Whole-food Vitamin C: The adrenal glands are where 95% of whole food Vitamin C is stored in your body. Real Vitamin C also contains copper.
〰️Sodium: Sodium is one of the first minerals to be lost during stress. It supports many, many critical functions in the body (see my “Stop Avoiding Salt’ post).
〰️Potassium: If sodium is not replenished, the body will start to lose potassium. Potassium supports many critical functions in the body too (more on that later).
*
The original Adrenal Cocktail recipe calls for:
*
〰️4 oz OJ (pulp-free, not from concentrate)
〰️1/4 tsp sea salt
〰️1/4 tsp cream of tartar
*
There are several versions of the recipe. I personally like adding in an extra 4 oz coconut water and opting for mineral drops instead of cream of tartar.
*
How and when it should be taken will vary from person to person. I personally like to take it in between meals.
